60% of the students at AURED come from 88 different cities and 15 neighbouring countries.Large numbers of children seek admission at AURED because they are taught to 'Listen and Speak', which enables them to integrate comfortably into a 'hearing world'. The Auditory Verbal Approach, the method used at AURED for the habilitation of children with hearing impairment, also empowers parents as the primary caregivers, which makes them responsible for their child's progress.

Under the present circumstances, parents have to undergo tremendous expenses towards their travel, and accommodation to come to Bombay.Several days have to be set aside for each trip, which disrupts their work schedules at home as well as the child's schooling. It is not possible for parents to bring their children as often as required and due to this, therapy is compromised which in turn affects the outcomes negatively.

With the establishing of Affiliate Centres, out-station students will be able to avail of facilities nearer their own cities instead of having to travel to Bombay for their child's therapy and audiological management.

We have established an AURED satellite centre in Hyderabad.  It is being managed by Ms. Kim Chadda who has a degree in Special Education for H I children. She has also attended several training workshops conducted at AURED.  Her daughter Kirti, is a past student of AURED.  All the students from Andhra Pradesh are now enrolled at AURED, Hyderabad.  Doctors, Audiologists and Cochlear Implant companies, are regularly referring their patients to this facility.

We now have an AURED Affiliate centre in Delhi, called 'Listen & Speak', It is being managed by Ms. Shilpi Narang who has a degree in Special Education for H I children. She has also attended several training workshops conducted at AURED. All the students from Delhi and the neighbouring states are now enrolled at AURED, Listen & Speak Delhi.
