Invitation to Run for AURED in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon
Its Marathon time again!!! The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon is being held on the 16th of January (Sunday) 2011. This year the registrations are taking place 5 months in advance, so that we all have enough time to train for the marathon.
AURED has been participating in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon for the past 6 years and the number of participants has increased considerably with each year. This year, the purpose of our participation is to raise funds to enable us to acquire independent premises for our
Early Intervention Centre, which caters exclusively to babies, between the age group of 0 to 3 years.
AURED, a centre providing Education & Habilitation to children with Hearing Impairment was started in 1986. The specific method used to teach children to 'Listen & Speak' is known as the Auditory Verbal Approach. This method enables children to develop their residual hearing; they learn to Listen & Speak with the help of appropriate amplification combined with one to one therapy. This facilitates their integration into mainstream society which is a giant step towards fulfilling our mission,
'Reduction of Disability'.

Dream Team(DT)
The DT is a select group of individuals who commit to raising at least Rs. 1 lac in pledges. Each Dream Teamer runs for one charity of his/her choice. S/he has to fill a DT form and make an upfront, non refundable contribution of Rs. 10,000/- in order to become a Dream Teamer

Corporate Challenge(CC)
The CC is a select group of companies that contribute a minimum of Rs. 1.56 lacs. The company sends a group of up to 30 employees to participate in the event. A company signs up for the Corporate Challenge by filling the CC Registration Form and making an upfront, non refundable contribution of Rs. 1.56 lacs. Each employee is also encouraged to raise at least Rs. 5000/- in pledges. Many companies offer to match pledges raised by their employees with or without limit. Companies also send multiple teams to participate.

Pledgers' United(PU)
The PU is for everyone who would raise pledges of any amount and run for a cause. A person joins the PU by filling the Marathon Registration Form and obtaining a pledge kit for Rs. 100/- or US$3.

How you can help:

| Contribute generously towards our cause, which is to enable children with hearing impairment 'Listen & Speak'. This could be through donations, sponsorships or pledges. |
| Support us by participating in the Marathon and raising pledges. |
| Be part of our AURED team, and support our effort in fund raising. |
We believe it is the right of every deaf child to have the option of spoken language. Help us in our endeavour to fulfil this vision.
How to enter for AURED:
| The marathon forms are available at AURED or you could down load them from
they are to be filled and signed, all areas with an ' * ' to be filled, Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 300 for the form & Rs. 1700/- as donation) to be attached to each application form and given to us latest by the 20th of August 2008. Children below 12 yrs are not permitted to participate.

| We urge each of you to raise more than Rs. 1000/- by asking your friends, colleagues, family members or the organization you work for, to sponsor your participation by donating money towards charity. The money raised through pledges will go towards starting a separate Early Intervention Centre. This will help us build a better future for children who are hearing impaired. |
| Pledges collected should be in the name of: 'United Way of Mumbai'(which is the designated charity for this event). 'The AURED Charitable Trust' is registered with United Way of Mumbai for the 2011 Marathon. |
| Once your enrolment is accepted you will get a kit along with a pledge form. Please enter the names of people whom you have collected money from and the amounts. On the top of the pledge form please put the name of our NGO 'The AURED Charitable Trust'. |
| Please hand over the completed pledge forms along with the cash/cheques collected to us the 10th of January as these have be sent to the Give India office prior to the cut off date. |
